Ok, someone asked me how to make something like this. I can’t give a tutorial on how to do it with multiple images. Instead, I’ll just teach you the simplest way of doing it using one image. Feel free to experiment after that =)

FIRST:

Create the text you want. Example: tumblr.

SECOND:

Open the image you want to put in the text.

THIRD:

Drag the “texture” or the image you want to put in the text. In this case, I dragged the image layer ABOVE the text layer.

FOURTH:

Press ctrl+alt+g to create a clipping mask.

Voila! You’re done. Feel free to experiment. Other versions:

Want newspaper print nails like this?

You will need:

  • a small glass of rubbing alcohol or vodka
  • 10 strips of newspaper (bigger than your nails)
  • LIGHT nailpolish. white, clear, light pink, etc. anything LIGHT

K now do this:

  1. Dip your nails in the alcohol for a while so the whole nail is wet
  2. press a strip of the newspaper on your nail and hold firmly for 30 seconds. do NOT move the strip, keep it firm.

YOU’RE DONE! Now go over with a clear coat so it’ll last <3

: How to make a GIF (Gregs' Style)

sundotkulangot:

Okay, I’m not really good with making tutorials, so don’t expect this one to be very easy to follow.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1. A webcam and a webcam application/ A video file
2. Adobe Photoshop CS3 or later
3. Camtasia (a video editing app)

STEP 1:

Open your video file/ webcam application and using Camtasia’s Screen Recorder, record your screen. It will then render to a GIF File.

image

STEP 2:

Using your Photoshop, you can edit the GIF file to add texts and other effects.

image

STEP 3:

Export your animation and make sure the size is below 500kb so that it will play/animate in your post.

STEP 4:

The Bokeh Effect.

thevampiredrinkscoke:

This is very, very easy. Here goes:

1. Open an image. Any image will do.

2. File > Place > Bokeh Picture.

3. Stretch the whole bokeh picture on the original picture.

4. Layer> Layer Style > Blending Options > Soft Light/Overlay (any mode between these two will do) and set desired opacity.

The bokeh picture I used isn’t really a good picture, I just wanted to demonstrate though. Try this and use a really good bokeh picture and indulge yourself. Enjoy!

Fake 3D Effect

First of all, I’m not back on Tumblr, I’m just granting a request from fallingcherryblossoms. She asked how I did the 3d effect on my display photo.

1. Choose a purrdy photo, preferably on a white background. Open on Photoshop.

2. Duplicate the layer. Pick a nice shade on Cyan for your foreground color, and white  for the background color. Go to Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map. Make sure the gradient selected is the one fading from Cyan to White. Hit OK.

3. Move the layer a little to the left. Change the Layer Blending to Multiply.

4. Use a soft brush to erase parts overlapping the face.

5. Make another duplicate of the original photo and move it on top of all the other layers. Change your foreground color to red and hit Gradient Map again.

6. Move the layer to the right and change the Layer Blending to Multiply.

7. Use a soft brush to erase parts overlapping the face.

8. Add the 3D glasses (I found on Google images LOL) and you’re done!
